Setting Up AlertForge Alerts in OBS Studio

There are two ways to use AlertForge alerts in OBS: overlay URLs and WebM file imports. Both methods take under 5 minutes.

The fastest way to get alerts running in OBS:

  • Log in to AlertForge and open your template
  • Click the overlay URL button to copy your unique URL
  • Open OBS Studio
  • In your scene, click the + button under Sources
  • Select Browser Source
  • Paste your overlay URL
  • Set width to 1920 and height to 1080
  • Click OK
  • Your alerts will now fire automatically when triggered by your streaming platform.

    Method 2: WebM File Import

If you prefer to use alert files directly:

  • Export your alert pack from AlertForge as transparent WebM files
  • Download the ZIP and extract the files
  • In your streaming software (Streamlabs, StreamElements), go to alert settings
  • Upload the WebM file as your custom alert media
  • Configure the alert duration and positioning
  • Tips for Best Results

  • Position alerts in the top or bottom of your scene so they don't block gameplay
  • Test alerts before going live using the test button in your alert widget
  • Use consistent sizing across all alert types for a clean look
  • Enable transparent background in Browser Source settings if using overlay URLs
  • Troubleshooting

If alerts aren't showing, check that your Browser Source has the correct URL and that your streaming platform connection is active. Make sure the source is visible and not covered by other elements in your scene.
